Derby of Hearts - Giving opportunities. Shaping the future!

Traditionally, the Linsenhoff-Rath family has focussed on charity alongside sporting events at all its horse shows.

This wonderful tradition is now also being introduced at the Al Shira`aa German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg.

Under the motto "Derby of Hearts - Giving opportunities. Shaping the future!", the Linsenhoff Foundation and the Holistic Foundation are jointly supporting Hamburg projects dedicated to education and integration in order to consciously shape the future together.

This year, the two donors Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff and Janina Lin Otto are supporting the Hamburg-based Mamalies project.

Especially in the current crisis-ridden times with noticeable effects - also for our common coexistence and togetherness - a supportive and cordial togetherness is particularly important.

Let's set an example together and create opportunities at the Derby of Hearts to shape the future!

Mamalies is a safe space for refugee women and children.

Mamalies has been committed to early language support and empowerment for 10 years - with a focus on language, education & work, digital skills and social participation.

Mamalies wants to achieve what should have long been a matter of course - that every woman has the same opportunities for a good life in Germany.

There are initial orientation, integration and meeting programmes with child supervision. Advice is also offered and integration into the labour market is promoted.

With LIFE HAMBURG in Hamburg-Bramfeld, the Holistic Foundation provides the premises for the services offered by Mamalies as part of the joint campaign with the Linsenhoff Foundation.

Around 560 women learn German at Mamalies every day. This makes their arrival in Germany much easier.

Mamalies has two central education and meeting centres in Hamburg and is active throughout the city in local accommodation for refugees.

In the low-threshold initial orientation courses, women who have just arrived learn to find their way around Germany without pressure and to be able to communicate as independently as possible.

This encourages women to participate in social life in a self-determined way.

The integration courses lead to the B1 certificate at various learning speeds, which in turn is essential for the subsequent job search and permanent integration.

At the same time, 20 children are lovingly looked after by the dedicated Mamalies team on the premises in Hafencity.

As the mothers learn right next door and can visit their children at any time if necessary, it is a particularly gentle first introduction to the concept of external childcare.

The mamalies' own book offers low-threshold access to the German language and was published by CARLSEN Verlag. With a focus on audio, it is suitable for the whole family - because nobody has to be able to read to learn!

At Mamalies, community is very important, because the Mamalies team is convinced:

Every encounter changes our social coexistence for the better.

The programme is as diverse as the women who come together here.

The focus is on informing, networking and empowering.

From feminist self-defence and violence prevention to talks on finance and healthcare, swimming courses and creative workshops, there is something for everyone.
